Simultaneously an exhibition and a worksite, the scenography for this retrospective was developed in collaboration with Martin Margiela.
The design was based on an approach grounded in observation of the real world and direct experience—principles that also informed the garments on display—creating a coherent environment within the museum context.

This methodology reflects a broader concern with analysing the thought processes and techniques that generated the works, ensuring both intellectual and aesthetic coherence between the exhibition space and the pieces presented.
The exhibition landscape incorporated multiple references to the designer’s conceptual processes, forming a cohesive whole enriched by a wide range of non-repetitive details. This approach offered an immersive reading of the exhibition while allowing subtle moments of interaction with the environment.

À la fois exposition et chantier, la scénographie de cette rétrospective a été développée en collaboration avec Martin Margiela.
Le projet s’appuyait sur une observation du réel et de l’expérience directe — principes qui ont également guidé la conception des vêtements exposés — afin de créer un environnement cohérent au sein du contexte muséal.

Cette méthodologie reflète une attention particulière portée à l’analyse des processus de pensée et des techniques ayant généré les œuvres, garantissant une harmonie intellectuelle et esthétique entre l’espace d’exposition et les pièces présentées.
Le paysage de l’exposition était composé de nombreuses références aux démarches conceptuelles du créateur, formant un ensemble cohérent enrichi d’une multitude de détails non répétitifs. Cette approche offrait une lecture immersive de l’exposition tout en ménageant de subtiles possibilités d’interaction avec l’environnement.
